Leaf St scheme consists of nine seperate buildings; 8 retail units and the training centre. The project is designed around enhancing circulation routes throughout the site, connecting the key contextual elements of Stretford Rd and the landmark of Hulme bridge. The movement of people through the site and creating space for the everyday to take place is encouraged in the public space which runs directly through the site. The retail units all look out onto the main avenue, connecting directly up to the training centre where the overhang of the cantilever creates views through the site to Stretford Rd. Moments along the landscaping create opportunity for co-locality to be created and the bi-folding doors of the retail units allowing option for trade and activity to spill out onto the street.
