THE ISSUE OF HOMELESSNESS
The issue of homelessness is an increasingly rising issue within the United Kingdom due to our current economic and political climate, and the effects being brought more and more to light with the unavoidable increase in rough sleepers on our streets. However there are 300,000 hidden homeless avoiding the official government statistics, meaning that the considered stastic behind this issue is far greater an issue than first thought. Through this project I aim to address the needs of the rough sleepers in manchester through gaining an understanding of the current issue of homelessness in Manchester and begin to understand the complexities surrounding homelessness.

EXPERIENTIAL JOURNEY THROUGH PROGRAMME
The journey of the programme is derived from the journey of a homeless person from the streets back out into the community. The experiential montages begin with the streets, moving someone into the shelter where their basic needs are met and dealt with, allowing them a secure base in which to be trained within the training centre and then on into the retail units. A key element in the design process is creating spaces where the homeless user constantly is engaging with the public realm, that key connection constantly allowing them to view and engage with society.
