Travelling between Amsterdam and Rotterdam by train allowed time to observe how people interacted with each other whilst sat at tables. In a small environment where ultimately strangers are placed together, it was interesting to see how people responded in that moment. 

 

From the CAD drawing above, I depicted a moment on the train from Rotterdam to Amsterdam. Four people were sat around the table and all clearly strangers. However, two people closest to the window has engaged with each other in conversation, a conversation which soon became quite animated as time passed. The two other passengers kept themselves to themselves, moving within only their designated space and using phones and headphones to escape the possibilites of having to interact with other human beings.
