THE BASEMENT: THE ENERGY HUB
Placing the plant rooms and energy systems in the basement contributes to the concept of journey within the scheme. All the means for running the building are located in the basement. This includes;
- Access to geothermal energy source
- Heat Recovery Ventilation System
- Water tank
- Electrics board
- Plumbing system
The energy from each part travels up the building through risers distributing air, electrics and water through space in the suspended ceilings meaning there is also easy access for resolving issues.
