The CLT construction used on the Ritblat Building by Hawkins\Brown is an approach which I have adopted in my strategy for structure. The CLT panels are a structural element which are prefabricated off site and constructed easily. One of the goals of the Ritblat Building was for the building to be built with one year. Using CLT as the main structural element allowed for them to achieve this goal. A quick and simple contruction process on Leaf St would be benefical as the site sits next to a residental area. The spaces around the site allow for a crane to be brought in to drop panels into place easily. This then means that the specialist involvment with the panels can be achieved quickly allowing time for the cladding and other elements of the buildings to be worked on using a locally sourced workforce.
